Urban Jungle, 2009
Urban Jungle is collaboration with students from El Puente High School, Elizabeth Folk, and LA artist Jennifer Vanderpool at Art From Scrap in Santa Barbara, CA. The large-scale installation is the result of three days of workshops facilitated by Elizabeth, and the utilization of materials from the Art From Scrap Reuse Store to create a visual representation of how city dwellers inhabit and personalize their built environments. The show was aimed at empowering and building the self-esteem of the participants and exposing them to positive methods of self-expression.
